International Sociological Association Research Committee on Labour Movements (RC44)
The research committee on labour movements (RC44) was established in 1990 in the framework of the International Sociological Association. Our mission is encourage international research on labour movements (broadly understood), with a focus on their role both in industrial relations and in the political arena. Membership is open to any person engaged in research into labour movement activities.
RC44 publishes a quarterly newsletter and serves as a clearing house for information on labour movements research, publications, conferences and educational programs. It convenes regional workshops and organizes labour movements panels at the ISA World Congresses. We welcome participation from a broad community of labour researchers.
